Access / Courseware shell
Accessibility
The courseware shell targets WCAG 2.2 AA. Learning is untimed, text is canonical, and every campus destination has a plain link.
Using this shell
- Tab and Shift+Tab move through links and controls. Enter opens links; Enter or Space activates buttons.
- Arrow keys move between campus buildings. The flat destination menu offers the same paths.
- Lesson content opens after a prediction or an explicit skip. Neither choice is evaluated for correctness.
- Recall checks show one question at a time, then the marked answer, explanation, and a link to the source passage.
- Reading preferences offer font and line-spacing choices. Text wraps at narrow widths and at increased text spacing.
- Use your screen reader for speech. Code remains selectable text and wraps without losing its bytes.
Scope and current limits
This shell includes the campus map and menu, lesson reader, prediction and quiz controls, text-mode lab launcher, and this page.
Auth and signup, Commons and Studio forms, lab spawning and restoration need the app plane. The noVNC canvas and third-party status page are outside the shell target. Mobile assistive technology and a full manual audit remain untested here.
Use the terminal for the text-mode path. The optional Kali desktop is not an equivalent screen reader surface.
Canonical release claim
This is the certified release wording. This static build does not establish the named screen reader passes or the completed regression audit. Those checks remain release requirements before public signup.
Automated checks and keyboard passes green on the desktop platform; desktop screen readers only (NVDA + Firefox on Windows, VoiceOver + Safari on macOS); mobile AT untested in v1; full manual AT audit pending; regression-core audit completed before public signup.
